Concerns have been reported after the Bruin Wiggle Ball’s rubber knobs have been breaking off and small pieces found inside children’s mouths.
Toys R Us have recalled the vibrating children’s ball being sold in the UK following concerns it could pose a choking hazard.
The Bruin Wiggle Ball, which vibrates and plays musical tunes, has been removed from shelves worldwide after it was found that the toy’s rubber knobs and plastic backing can come off and accidentally be swallowed.
Toys R Us and Babies R Us are asking all customers to return the toy for a full refund as soon as possible.
The advice was originally announced in the USA and now applies worldwide.
A notice posted by the US Consumer Product Safety Commission revealed Toys R Us had received six reports of the knobs breaking off, including four reports of pieces of the product found in children’s mouths.
The Notice said TAKE THE TOY AWAY FROM CHILDREN AND STOP USING THEM IMMEDIATELY.
The toy – blue in colour with distinctive orange, yellow and green knobs – carries the item number 067369 and the model number 5F6342E.
It has an on and off switch and requires three AA batteries to operate
