12 year old attacked on walk to school


A 12-year-old schoolgirl has been assaulted on her morning walk to school on Wednesday morning. The young victim had been strolling though an alleyway, when the suspect grabbed her by the arm and attacked her.

The attack took place between 8am and 8:15am, between Weymouth Avenue and Eastbourne Avenue in Gosport.

The schoolgirl put up a struggle and managed to run to safety. Following the incident, police have stepped up patrols.

A statement from Bay House School reads: “Please be extra vigiliant about keeping yourself safe.”

“Please have the additional safety measures in place of either being in a pair or a group on your way to and from school, or keeping to the main roads.”

Police officers report the suspect was described as in his early 40s, white, of a muscular build, wearing a dark blue hoodie, and was about six feet tall with blonde hair.

A Hampshire Constabulary spokesman said: “We’re appealing for anyone who saw anything or anyone suspicious in the area around the time of the incident to contact the Eastern Investigation Team on 101 quoting 44170394329.”
